Hong Kong-based hedge fund Trafalgar Capital Management has strengthened its investment team with the appointment of Michael Rothlin as chief investment officer responsible for its macro trading strategies, according to a report by FX Markets.

Rothlin joins the firm from Natixis, where he spent the past year leading Asia-Pacific G10 linear rates and foreign exchange trading. He was recruited by the French bank as part of a broader expansion of its regional markets business.

Before joining Natixis, Rothlin co-founded Hong Kong-based White Elk Partners, a hedge fund focused on global macro and relative value investment strategies. Earlier in his career, he served as a portfolio manager at Wolver Hill Asset Management and spent more than nine years at HSBC, where he was Asia-Pacific head of G10 foreign exchange trading.
