Jain Global expands London quant team

Related Topics

Jain Global, the multi-strategy hedge fund founded by Bobby Jain, has stepped up hiring in its London office, adding several senior quantitative specialists in recent months as it develops its data-driven trading platform, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.

Among the latest hires is Paul Woodward, who joins as a senior quantitative developer after roles at firms including Citadel and previous quant positions at ExodusPoint and Morgan Stanley. His background spans multiple large-scale systematic trading platforms across equities and derivatives.

The firm has also brought in Alexander Kazantsev as a senior quant researcher. A PhD-trained mathematician, he previously worked at WorldQuant and Graham Capital, adding further experience from established systematic and quantitative hedge fund environments.

Jain’s London office has emerged as a key hub for its quantitative build-out. Senior figures based in the city include Anton Merluskin, who oversees quant modelling and analytics, and Peter Bolland, both of whom bring extensive experience from major investment banks and hedge funds.

The recruitment drive reflects Jain Global’s broader effort to strengthen its systematic investment capabilities as it matures. The firm only began full-scale trading operations recently and is still in its early performance phase, reporting modest returns in its first full year.
