Event-driven investment firm Lykos Global Management has hired J Andrew McEntire, multi-=strategy hedge fund firm Point72 Asset Management’s long-standing global head of capital markets, as its new President, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The report cite an investor letter as confirming that McEntire will join Lykos later this autumn.
McEntire spent more than two decades at Point72, where he oversaw IPO participation and secondary share sales across public equities. His successor will be AJ Vaccarino, who has led capital markets activity for EverPoint, Point72’s equities unit.
Founded by former Soros Fund Management executive Nick Laster, Lykos manages about $1.2bn and has already backed high-profile deals, including a pre-IPO investment in AI cloud provider CoreWeave. The hire comes amid a rebound in US IPO activity, with $24.2bn raised year-to-date.
