Man Group partners with Anthropic to embed AI across investment processes

Related Topics

Man Group, the world’s largest listed hedge fund firm, has partnered with artificial intelligence research firm Anthropic BPC to integrate advanced artificial intelligence into its investment and operational workflows.

The collaboration will see Man Group, which manages $214bn for institutional and private clients, leverage Anthropic’s Claude AI platform across its public and private market strategies. The partnership focuses on enhancing alpha generation by allowing portfolio teams to process and synthesise large datasets, analyse financial risk models, and generate new investment insights more efficiently.

Man Group will combine its proprietary technology platform with Claude’s capabilities, including Claude Skills and Claude Code, to automate workflows and coding tasks, reducing repetitive work and freeing staff to focus on core investment processes such as company modelling, security selection, and portfolio construction.

Gary Collier, Chief Technology Officer at Man Group, said: “The introduction of LLMs has accelerated our ability to create proprietary alpha generation tools, like AlphaGPT. Anthropic’s enterprise-focused AI solutions allow us to integrate AI directly into our investment processes, improving productivity and driving innovation across the firm.”

Chris Ciauri, Managing Director International at Anthropic, added: “Man Group has a strong technology heritage and is already building serious AI capabilities in-house. This partnership is a natural next step, enabling specific applications from generating investment signals to synthesising financial data into actionable decisions that were previously too time-consuming to reach.”

The initiative will also extend beyond trading floors, impacting departments from distribution to human resources, as Man Group seeks to accelerate operational efficiency and innovation across the organisation.
