Opus Fund Services, a multi award winning, independent provider of global fund administration services, has appointed industry veteran Robert Ansell as director, business development. Ansell brings with him nearly three decades of experience in global financial markets.

Ansell will be joining the highly tenured Business Development team and will be responsible for identifying and driving new revenue opportunities.

“We are seeing increasing interest in the Opus platform led by the demands placed on fund administrators to deliver a technology driven service offering,” said Robin Bedford, Opus’ CEO. “Attracting somebody with Robert’s extensive experience and industry reputation demonstrates our commitment to expansion in the private fund industry.”

Ansell joins Opus after a career spanning London, Hong Kong and New York with both ING Barings and Macquarie Bank. Throughout most of that period, he was Global Co Head of Arbitrage Trading and then Head of US Cash Equities. His last role before Opus was Managing Partner at Birdsong Capital Management, LLC.

“I am very excited to join Opus,” says Ansell.  “They were our Fund Administrator at Birdsong, and I was so impressed with their outstanding client service and user friendly, intuitive technology that it was an easy decision when the opportunity arose to join them. This is a company with a very strong culture, a unique identity and a strive for innovation. I look forward to leveraging my experience and knowledge to help showcase Opus’s continued investments in industry leading technology.”
