Chris LaSusa, who co-founded stock-focused hedge fund KCL Capital with Kevin Cottrell, has joined hedge fund Paloma Partners Management as Head of Long-Short Equity, according to a report by Pensions & Investments.
The report cites unnamed sources familiar with the matter as confirming the appointment, which comes after LaSusa and Cottrell shuttered KCL Capital last year.
The pair had previously worked together at Steven Cohen’s Point72 Asset Management for more than a decade, with Cottrell having joined multi-strategy hedge fund Balyasny Asset Management’s equities trading unit last year as Media and Telecoms Portfolio Manager for Corbets Capital.
According to the latest SEC Form ADV filings, Paloma Partners, the investment advisor to the Paloma Fund – a multi-strategy hedge fund founded by S Donald Susan in 1989, – had around $3.3bn in AUM as of 31 December 2023.
