San Franciso-based fintech startup Playfair Tech has unveiled a new AI engine designed to help hedge funds better predict market trends and process millions of data points from platforms such as Twitter, Reddit and Instagram.
Playfair tech's API platform integrates with major financial systems, making the information available to financial institutions and hedge funds.
Playfair's approach is based on the belief that perception drives market shifts and the new engine is designed to analyse financial opinions from tens of millions of social accounts to provide a "more accurate perspective" on financial markets.
The company says it already counts "multi-billion dollar hedge funds, global banks, and billion-dollar asset managers among its exclusive client list".
