Qube adds quant technologists in London

Related Topics

Qube Research & Technologies has been on an aggressive hiring spree in the first half of 2024, adding several quantitative technologists from a diverse range of backgrounds to its new London office in the last month alone, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.

Jeffrey Salmond has joined Qube as a director focusing on cloud, data science and computing from media buying platform The Trade Desk, where he served as a solutions architect for three years. Before that, he spent a year at high-performance cloud computing firm Rescale. Salmond also spent nine years at Cambridge University, where he eventually became the Head of Research Engineering.

Qube has also added talent from the banking sector, a more traditional source for hedge fund recruitment, with Cameron Thomas-Corke, previously a senior application support analyst at JPMorgan, joining as a production manager. Nicholas Randle, meanwhile, a former VP at Credit Suisse, has come on board as a full-stack engineer.

From the hedge fund and proprietary trading sectors, Qube has added Ilies Zidane, a quantitative strategist from Millennium, as a relative value quantitative trader, and Yuan Liu, previously a portfolio manager at WorldQuant, Millennium’s spinoff, to work in quant research. Victor Popa, a quant developer who most recently worked at crypto trading firm Portofino Technologies and had a brief stint at Meta, is also now part of Qube’s team.
