Quantitative hedge fund Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) has initiated a new internship program at its Dubai office, aiming to attract emerging talent in quantitative research, development, and trading, according to a report by Financial News.
The programme, based in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), spans four to six months, with primary intakes in May and June. Candidates with strong skills in statistics, machine learning, natural language processing, or AI are being encouraged to apply.
QRT, which manages approximately $28bn in assets, established its Dubai presence in August 2023 and currently employs over 20 staff in the emirate. The firm is also recruiting full-time quantitative developers in the region.

This move aligns with a broader trend of hedge funds expanding into Dubai, attracted by favourable tax policies and its strategic time zone. Over 75 hedge funds now operate from the DIFC, with firms like Verition and Brevan Howard also offering local internships.
