Former Tribeca Investment Partners star hedge fund manager Jun Bei Liu has made the first key hire for her upcoming long-short fund, scheduled to launch next year, with the appointment of Jason Todd as Chief Executive Officer and Head of Distribution, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The report cites Liu as confirming on Thursday that former Chief Investment Officer of Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s private banking unit will lead the new AUD1.5bn ($1bn) Sydney-based fund, which has yet to be named but has secured backing from Tribeca.
Before CBA, Todd was Head of Wealth Management Investment Strategy at Macquarie Group Ltd, according to his LinkedIn profile.
