Verition adds former Goldman Sachs and Nomura quant exec

Related Topics

Multi-strategy hedge fund Verition has hired veteran quantitative finance executive Jérôme Brochard as a managing director in London, adding further senior talent to its expanding European platform, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.

Brochard joins from Nomura, where he held senior roles within the bank’s quantitative investment solutions (QIS) business, most recently serving as global head of structuring and EMEA head of distribution.

QIS teams at investment banks develop and package systematic investment strategies for institutional clients, often translating hedge fund-style approaches into structured products and derivatives.

Prior to Nomura, Brochard held managing director positions at several major banks. He served in Credit Suisse’s QIS division and previously spent more than a decade at Goldman Sachs, where he rose to become global head of systematic trading strategies after being named managing director in 2011.

Details regarding Brochard’s responsibilities at Verition have not yet been disclosed, and it remains unclear when he formally assumed the role. Regulatory records indicate his association with Nomura ended in late March, while no current registration with Verition has yet appeared on the UK Financial Conduct Authority register.

Nomura reportedly declined to comment on the move, while Verition did not respond to requests for comment.
