Parker Global names Sam Y Chung as director of quantitative research and risk

Sam Y Chung, PhD has joined Parker Global Strategies as Vice President, Director of Quantitative Research and Risk Management.
 
In this newly created position, Dr.Chung will be responsible for developing quantitative risk management tools and systems for the firm. He will be based in the Parker Global’s Stamford office where he will work closely with founderVirginia Parker. 

‘Sam’s background and academic expertise are integral to our firm as we look to further develop our allocation tools and expand our research into new emerging strategies,’ says Parker.  
 
Dr.Chung serves as Associate Dean and as a tenured Professor of Finance at Long Island University, teaching both MBA and undergraduate level courses.  Prior to joining PGS, he served on the investment committee at State Street Global Alliance/SSARIS Advisors LLC, and served as a Research Associate at the Center for International Securities and Derivatives Market (CISDM). Dr.Chung received his PhD in Finance with a minor in Economics and Statistics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, his Master of Finance from Boston College and his Masters of Business Administration from Illinois State University.  Prior to studying in the United States, he received his Bachelor of Arts from Kyung Hee University in Seoul, Korea.
