Monsoon Capital picks SEI for outsourcing services of newly launched UCITS fund
US-based Monsoon Capital, which focuses on emerging markets, has selected SEI to provide full fund administration, trustee and custodial services for its newly launched UCITS fund. Monsoon uses a systematic quantitative trading approach and it was SEI’s ability to support Monsoon’s trading volume which swayed the decision, thanks to the firm’s technology infrastructure which delivers a straight-through, automated process for trade reconciliation. SEI’s online Manager Dashboard tool will give Monsoon comprehensive data management, performance and risk reporting, providing the manager with the flexibility needed to tailor its reporting in parallel with its unique business decision-making process. SEI’s systems provide aggregated views of data across multiple product lines from the top down fund or portfolio level to the investment security level.
Monsoon’s founder and senior managing director, Gautam Prakash (pictured), said that SEI “stood out” as a strong partner due to its independence as an administrator, the quality of its technology, and its ability to provide flexible and tailored reporting. “We very much look forward to working with SEI as we continue to grow our asset base and add new alternative strategies in the UCITS format,” said Prakash. Philip Masterson, senior vice president and head of business development, Europe, at SEI, added that SEI had the technology, expertise and track record to support high-frequency trading in a controlled environment. “By providing automated and scalable technology from trade entry through back-end reconciliation, we enable Monsoon to focus on managing investments and creating a better experience for its investors,” said Masterson.
