Hilkhuijsen joins from State Street Bank Luxembourg having held various senior legal and compliance roles within some of the largest global custodians over the last 15 years.

Williams joins from JP Morgan, where he has held a senior vice president role for seven years. He also previously worked at State Street. Williams has experience in investment markets and the corporations operating within these frameworks.

Peter Hughes, founder and chief executive officer, Apex Fund Services, says: “We recognise that global regulatory and financial environments are both dynamic and complex, and to further strengthen our internal controls across the group we are investing in ensuring that we have the most knowledgeable and sought after team in place. Nitin joins us with unrivalled experience spanning four continents and will help implement a state of the art solution to reinforce our global commitment to providing the highest levels of service with exemplary safeguards in place. Sonja and Gareth also have extensive industry experience and are important additions to our European team where regulation is becoming increasingly complex. I am delighted to welcome Nitin, Sonja and Gareth to the Apex Group and look forward to further evolving our procedures, policies and internal infrastructures on a global basis.”

Khanapurkar says: “In the current environment, risk and compliance is an integral part of global operations and it warrants the highest level of integrity and diligence. Having a robust risk and compliance framework is a critical success factor for financial service firms, not just for survival but also for growth. I am excited to take up this challenging role and be part of vibrant organisation like Apex which has been established on a set of strong founding values and principals. ”

Hilkhuijsen says: “The EU regulatory framework is growing more and more and leading service providers like Apex face daily challenges around implementing new rules into existing processes and systems without unnecessary disruption of business. I intend to address implementation of these regulatory requirements with a proactive attitude, a pragmatic approach and a tailored solution to ensure that aside of compliance with regulatory requirement a unique Apex client experience is created.”

Williams adds: “Apex is a key independent in the third party global Administrator market and I relish the opportunity to help grow the business in Luxembourg, delivering the highest level of service to our clients. A key focus will be to work in partnership with our clients to support their fund ranges in a time where regulatory and new fund structures require a controlled, accurate and timely delivery.”
