Marc Ciancimino, KKR Asset Management:
Managing Director, KKR Asset Management, Global Head of Mezzanine.
MARC CIANCIMINO (London) joined KKR in 2008 with particular responsibility for the European dimension of KKR Mezzanine Partners. Prior to KKR he was with GSC Group in their European Mezzanine business where he was a Managing Director responsible for sourcing and evaluating middle and large market transactions. After spending several years in the Leveraged Finance Group of Bankers Trust, Mr. Ciancimino moved to the principal side in 1999 investing in European mezzanine for Prudential in London as an Associate Director. Mr. Ciancimino started his career in finance at Citibank. He holds degrees from Cambridge and London Universities.
Martin Sharkey, Clifford Chance:
Senior Associate, Banking & Finance, Capital Markets
Martin has been at Clifford Chance since 2003, and is a Senior Associate experienced in advising on structured finance transactions. In particular he specialises in CLOs and has advised collateral manager, arranger and investor clients. He has spoken on CLO panels at various conferences.
Graeme joined Alcentra in September 2004 and is the Head of European Direct Lending and Mezzanine Investments. He is also a member of the European Investment Committee and sits on the Investment Committees for U.S. Mezzanine funds.
Prior to joining Alcentra, Graeme was an Investment Director at Intermediate Capital Group where he marketed ICG’s capabilities to private equity firms and originated and invested in numerous European mezzanine financings. Before joining ICG in 1998 he worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland for five years, with two years in the leveraged finance team in London.
Graeme is a graduate of Napier University and a qualified accountant. He also received an MBA from Heriot-Watt University Business School, Edinburgh.
Mike Dennis, Ares Management Ltd:
Mr. Dennis is a Managing Director of Ares Management Limited where he is responsible for the Ares European Private Debt Group and also sits as an investment committee member. Mr. Dennis joined Ares in 2007 from Barclays where he was a Director in the Financial Sponsor leveraged finance team responsible for UK origination.
Mr. Dennis graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nottingham and has an M.B.A from the Chicago Booth School of Business where he graduated with high honors.
James Waddington, Dechert:
James Waddington advises commercial and investment banks and private equity and hedge fund clients in connection with finance and derivative transactions, CLOs, credit default swaps, complex lending arrangements, debt and equity offerings, securitisations, insolvency and restructuring matters. Mr. Waddington also advises on fund formation matters and fund investments.
He was admitted to practice in New York and is fluent in English and French. He has previously worked as an investment banker at Bankers Trust Company (now Deutsche Bank) and has practiced law in Paris, London and New York. Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Waddington was a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP.
Andrew Bellis, 3i Debt Management:
Managing Director and Partner.
Andrew is a Managing Director and Partner of 3i Debt Management, responsible for the strategic growth of the business. Before joining 3iDM in July 2012, he ran the global CLO new issue business at Credit Suisse. Prior to that Andrew held a number of roles at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from 2003, including running the European CLO and alternative fund structuring group and the illiquid structured credit trading business in Europe.
In total Andrew has 15 years of experience of structuring and raising loan and credit funds for asset managers and his teams have won a number of industry awards from IFR. Andrew also sat as the employee representative on the investment committee of the Credit Suisse UK Pension Fund from late 2010.
Andrew holds a first class honours degree from Imperial College, University of London.
Antoine Chausson, BNP Paribas:
Antoine Chausson is a senior structurer at BNP Paribas' Asset Securitisation Group - Banking Solutions & Regulatory. He originates, structures and closes liquidity, balance sheet and regulatory capital transactions with a focus on deleveraging and co -investments across structured finance, export finance and corporate portfolios. He is also one of the leading front office bankers involved in advocacy on securitization regulatory developments in Europe.
Antoine has held extensive trading, structuring and marketing responsibilities on cash and derivatives activities across rates, fx, credit and equities during his career in the BNP Paribas group.
Fabrice Susini,BNP Paribas Corporate Investment Banking:
Global Head of Securitisation
Fabrice Susini is Global Head of Securitisation at BNP Paribas. Based in London since 2000, Fabrice manages a team of professionals based in New York, London, Paris, Milan, Hong-Kong, Tokyo and Brussels who are involved in structuring, evaluating and managing ABS and structured securities.
Fabrice joined BNP Paribas in 1997 and since then has originated, led and structured major securitisation transactions with a wide range of assets (trade receivables, inventories, loans…) for corporate and financial institutions.
Fabrice has an MBA for the London Business School, a Master’s Degree in Finance from the University of Dauphine Paris IX and a Degree in law from the University Nanterre Paris X. He is a graduate of the Institut d’Etude Politique de Paris (IEP).
Colin Atkins, Carlyle Group:
Colin Atkins is a Managing Director and Head of the European Structured Credit advisory team based in London. Mr. Atkins joined the firm in 2004 as Head of Credit for the European Leveraged Finance business, a role in which he worked on many notable transactions, before taking on his current position.
Mr. Atkins came to Carlyle from Prudential M&G where between 1999 and November 2004, he helped establish Prudential M&G's Leveraged Finance platform, which became a market leader in the European institutional market. Mr. Atkins previously worked in Corporate Private Placements at PPM America in Chicago and held positions in Prudential M&G's Corporate Tax and Treasury departments.
Mr. Atkins holds a B.A. (Hons) in accounting & finance from Nottingham Trent University. He is a member of The Association of Chartered Management Accountants (ACMA) and is a CFA charter holder.
David Bell, BNY Mellon:
David Bell, Managing Director, joined BNY Mellon in 2005 and is currently responsible for EMEA Corporate Trust relationships with investment Managers, Hedge Funds and Private Equity clients for Structured Products
Previously within BNY Mellon he has held managerial positions for CDO Client Servicing and Head of Operations
David has over 25 years experience in the financial industry. Prior to BNY Mellon he held positions at Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan covering front, middle and back office disciplines.
Örn Greif, BNP Paribas:
Head of Debt Business Development
Örn Greif joined the BNP Paribas group in 2001, within Corporate & Investment Banking to originate, structure, and syndicate securitised products. In 2012, he was appointed Head of Debt Business Development within BNP Paribas Securities Services, who provide issuer & arranger clients with administration services for international & domestic bonds as well as structured debt.
Örn has nearly two decades experience in debt capital markets having previously worked for Nomura International and Barclays Capital in London, New York and Paris. He has executed securitisations of whole businesses, trade receivables, consumer & auto loans, residential & commercial mortgages for issuers across Europe and North America. Örn studied at the University of Paris, the Institutd'EtudesPolitiques de Paris and the University of California at Los Angeles with degrees in Literature, Politics and Economics.
Steve Baker, Apollo Global Management:
Mr. Baker joined the Structured Credit group at Apollo in January 2013. Previously, Mr. Baker was a technical specialist in structured finance at the FSA in London (and represented the UK at the EBA Securitisation Subgroup). Prior to that Mr. Baker ran the Structured Finance Solutions business for EMEA and the Americas for Standard Chartered Bank in London. Before that Mr. Baker was at Lehman Brothers in the CLO Banking group where he co-managed the CLO origination business in New York. Mr Baker also worked at Natixis and CIBC in New York in structured finance.
Mr. Baker holds a BASc with first class honours in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, an MBA from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario, and is a CFA charter holder.
Aron Joy,Simmons & Simmons:
Aron is a Managing Associate in Simmons & Simmons corporate tax group in London. Aron joined Simmons & Simmons in 2004 and qualified into the corporate tax group in March 2006
Aron’s broad based practice encompasses all aspects of funds (UK, non-UK traditional, alternative and retail) and other investment products, as well as banking and structured finance transactions, derivatives, real estate (including structured real estate transactions) and corporate M&A and restructurings. Aron advises numerous high profile clients across a variety of sectors, with an emphasis on clients in the asset management and investment funds and financial institutions sectors. Aron is also currently advising a national government on enhancing the competitiveness of the funds and asset management sector in its country.
Recently Aron was part of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) working group on the UK Government’s proposal to introduce a regulated tax transparent fund. Aron also met with representatives from the Treasury and HM Revenue & Customs to discuss those proposals and has written articles on the topic that have been published in international tax journals. Aron is currently part of a working group involved with proposed changes at European level to the VAT treatment of commodity futures, options and other derivatives traded on the terminal markets. Aron is Simmons & Simmons’ representative member of the Stamp Taxes Practitioners Group.
Mick Vasilache, Chenavari Investment Managers:
Mick has 19 years of experience in European and US leveraged finance. He started his career in Morgan Stanley’s Fixed Income division in New York and came to Europe in 2000 with JP Morgan Chase in order to develop the European leveraged buyout market. Mick moved to the buy-side in 2003 and prior to Chenavari he developed and ran the €1.1 billion European Leveraged Credit Fund at AIM, an affiliate of Cerberus Capital. Prior to that Mick was the senior leveraged credit analyst at Elgin Capital where he was one of the founders of Dalradian CLO programme which consisted of four CLOs totalling €1.4 billion. Mick is a graduate of Wesleyan University and has gained an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Fred Nada, BlueBay Asset Management:
Head of Research - Credit Alternatives
Fred Nada joined BlueBay’s High Yield and Special Situations team in July 2007. In his role, Fred has been analysing investments, leading restructurings, refinancing and disposals of portfolio companies. Prior to joining BlueBay, Fred was a Director of Credit Suisse’s Special Situations Group where he worked from 2005. Fred was involved in sourcing, analysing, arranging and managing investments across Europe.
Prior to this, Fred was at Merrill Lynch from 2001 to 2005 where he was a Vice President in the Special Situations Group focusing on Distressed Situations. Before joining Merrill Lynch, Fred worked as a trader at Cogetex, a Geneva-based commodity trading company. Fred holds a BSC in Business Administration from HEC Geneva and an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business.
Indranil (Neil) Basu, Pearl Diver Capital LLP:
Neil is Managing Partner, CEO and founder of Pearl Diver Capital LLP, a boutique investment management firm that specialises in investing in Securitised Corporate Credit/CLOs. Neil has over 20-years experience in Structured Finance, Fixed Income and Credit. Neil previously worked with Citibank, ABN AMRO and Nomura Securities. Prior to founding Pearl Diver Capital, Neil was Managing Director and Head of Structured/Securitised Credit business at Wachovia Securities (now Wells Fargo) in London and member of Wachovia’s European Fixed Income Operating Committee. Prior to Wachovia, Neil was Managing Director and Head of the Structured Credit business at Nomura Securities in London.
Neil has a Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), and holds an MBA (Beta Gamma Sigma) from the University of North Carolina.
Before joining ARDIAN in 2007, Guillaume Chinardet worked within BNP Paribas in the Media & Telecom Department as Associate on Leveraged Finance from 2004. He previously worked within Deloitte & Touche as Auditor and within Société Générale Investment Banking as Analyst.
Dagmar Kent-Kershaw, Intermediate Capital Group:
Dagmar Kent-Kershaw joined ICG in 2008 and is Head of Credit Fund Management. Dagmar joined ICG from Prudential M&G where she worked for the previous seven years as Head of Structured Products, having originally founded that business. She was previously responsible for Prudential M&G’s debt private placement business.
She has extensive experience of the sub-investment grade credit and structured finance markets and has over 20 years experience in fixed income markets, also at Scotiabank and Natwest. Dagmar has a degree in economics from York University.
Ravi Anand, Dexion Capital:
Head of Corporate Finance, Dexion Capital plc
Ravi formed a partnership with Dexion Capital in 2010 which merged into Dexion Capital in 2011. Ravi has over 21 years of financial services experience and a wide ranging experience of managing and developing asset management businesses (both long-only and alternatives) over the past 16 years, as well as leading corporate and other transactions, both as principal at New Star Asset Management and Flemings, and as an adviser at HSBC Investment Bank plc. He is a qualified accountant and studied Management and Administration at Aston University.
Alastair Sewell, Fitch Ratings:
Alastair Sewell is a director in Fitch Ratings’ fund and asset manager rating group. His primary areas of responsibility are credit asset manager research and debt fund ratings.
Alastair was previously a CLO asset manager analyst in Fitch’s structured credit group. He began his career as a CDO rating analyst.
Alastair earned an MBA with distinction from the University of Bath and a BSc from the University of Bristol.
Ross Youngs, BNP Paribas:
Head of Sales BNP Paribas Securities Services Channel Islands & Isle of Man
Ross is the Head of Sales for BNP Paribas Securities Services covering the Channel Islands and Isle of man. Ross has over 13 years of experience in Alternative Fund structures covering Private Debt, Equity,Real Estate and Hedge Funds. He works with a variety of promoters in the UK, Continental Europe, North and South America and Australia launching open or closed ended funds, including several London Stock Exchange Listed Debt Funds and private Debt Structures. Ross is a member of the BNP Paribas global alternatives practice and is a Chartered Banker.
Dhruv is responsible for asset selection and due diligence at Strategic Assets Partners since 2012; involved primarily in Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Private Equity Transactions. Dhruv has experience in late-stage Chinese Private Equity funding and development of the Chinese Institutional Market
