GoldenTree Asset Management has appointed Lauren Garner as a research analyst, focusing on distressed investments across all business sectors with responsibilities encompassing both existing investments and new opportunities.
She will be reporting to chief executive Steve Tananbaum (pictured).
Garner has extensive experience in alternative investments area, specialising in distressed assets. She joins GoldenTree from multistrategy fund manager JD Capital Management, where she was a senior analyst in the distressed and high yield credit group, analysing investment opportunities across the capital structure in stressed credits and special situations.
Earlier she was a distressed debt and public equity analyst at Tudor Investment Corporation for five years.
"We are pleased that Lauren is joining GoldenTree,' Tananbaum says. 'In these volatile economic times, her broad experience with distressed assets is especially useful and enhances our value investment process.
'The current financial markets are a reminder that there are opportunities at various levels of the capital structure. With Lauren on the team, we are better positioned to capitalise on those opportunities for our investors."
Says Garner: "I was drawn to GoldenTree's commitment to providing investors with solid performance through their value investment philosophy. The financial world is changing and GoldenTree has the stability and management team to navigate through the changes."
