CAIA New York and NYAIR Educational Event
Brexit and the Alternative Fund Management Industry: Views from Europe and the United States

Branches of US managers that had so far relied on London as the hub for financial services in Europe (as it’s the largest in Europe), as well as Europe-wide organizations, are now left to wonder how Britain’s decision taken in the summer of 2016 will impact their businesses. The question arises on multiple fronts, including in terms of local client access, and for investment purposes into alternative assets across borders in Europe.

Our panel will aim to establish what the new difficulties are, and to discuss potential action fund managers might be willing to take to mitigate any adverse consequences of Brexit on their businesses, from a commercial and regulatory standpoint.

Join us in the discussion with leading stakeholders, including business heads of large assets managers in the alternative space, and European government representatives who have tackled the question of the future of alternative investment management in Europe. Our moderator has written two pieces in our Alternative Investments Analyst Review titled Brexit and Its Impact on Cross-Border Activity and (R)Evolution of the Regulatory Landscape in the UK.
