Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM) has appointed Hazel Pitchers as Head of Institutional Marketing for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Reporting to Andy Cummins, Business Manager, Institutional Business EMEA, Hazel will lead a team of five and will be responsible for marketing activities and initiatives for MLIM's institutional business across the region. She will also work closely with the Retail Marketing team, particularly on branding and product development.

Picher joins MLIM from Fischer Francis Trees & Watts, a fixed income portfolio manager for institutional clients, where she was Marketing Communications Manager. Her responsibilities included all aspects of marketing, client reporting, internal and external client communications. She previously held a marketing role at Gartmore.

'Hazel has a proven track record in successful institutional product marketing and communications and we look forward to working with her,' says Cummins. 'She joins us at an exciting time, as we continue to broaden our international product range to meet the demands of our growing institutional client base.'
