Westport, Connecticut-based Weston Capital Asset Management has announced that the firm’s second incubator fund, Weston Capital Partners Master Fund II, has entered into a strategic partnership with San Francisco-based White Oak Partners.

White Oak has launched a multi-strategy high-yield debt fund that aims to invest dynamically across the debt capital structure, offering portfolio downside protection and seeking opportunities that have limited correlation to traditional bond indices.

The White Oak founding team, Andre Hakkak, Ken Masters and Barbara McKee, bring together structured finance, fundamental-based credit analysis, deal origination, and risk mitigation expertise in managing the White Oak Structured Fund.

Members of the founding team have had extensive experience applying aspects of these strategies throughout their careers in the industry. Before forming White Oak, team members held positions with firms such KKR Financial, Franklin Templeton and Alpine Global.

‘We look forward to implementing a robust investment programme based on our shared vision and values with Weston Capital,’ McKee says.

The managing member of Weston Capital Partners Master Fund II is WCAM, an affiliate of Weston Capital Management. Since the beginning of 2004, the goal of the Partners funds has been to create value for investors by seeding well-diversified portfolios of emerging managers with distinct strategies and geographic focus. The funds have provided sponsor capital for the six emerging managers currently in their portfolios.
