Bas van Rhijn, previously global head of financial markets sales and a member of the financial markets management at ING Bank in Amsterdam, has joined Greenbay Investments in Amsterdam as a partner responsible for marketing.

Greenbay Investments is an investment management company specialising in sustainable investments, with offices in Amsterdam and London. According to Greenbay, sustainable investing – a relatively new discipline that integrates environmental and social performance factors into financial analysis and the investment decision-making process – is gaining popularity among investors as a growing body of research suggests a positive relationship between sustainable performance and stock returns.

Over the past 20 years Van Rhijn has held various responsibilities in international capital markets with Amro Bank, ING Bank and CSFB London. He joins Robert Kroese and Feddo Kuiper, who founded Greenbay in November 2006. Kroese and Kuiper each have a 20-year track record in international capital markets with London- and Amsterdam-based financial institutions.

In August Greenbay launched the Greenbay European Long Short Fund, one of the first sustainable long/short funds in Europe. The fund is listed on the Irish Stock Exchange and targets institutional investors and high net worth individuals.
