Aros Capital Partners, the recently launched Anglo-Danish hedge fund manager, has appointed Tom Muchiri Kabuga as an analyst in its investment team.
His remit will be to focus specifically on the development of the Aros Altru Fund, a new altruistic fund to be launched in Q1 2010.
Kabuga, originally from Kenya, founded a Kenya-based consulting and trade firm, which fosters Afro-Chinese partnerships, and in 2002 co-founded Creative Resources Global in China, which develops partners and suppliers through engineering consulting, technology transfer and supply-chain management. He has also delivered on several strategy consulting projects with start up companies.
Christian Falster, chief executive of Aros Capital Partners, says: “As a new-start operation, we are delighted to have attracted someone of Tom’s calibre. In the past, a candidate such as him might well have been drawn to one of the ’established’ players such as a Goldman Sachs or Apax. However, in this new and evolving environment, tomorrow’s talent is looking for the success stories of the future and moving to exciting and entrepreneurial companies.”
