Twin Capital Management, a New York-based event-driven hedge fund firm, has appointed Richard Fitzgerald as vice president and analyst.

Fitzgerald (pictured) will seek investment opportunities in special situations and deep value.

Before joining Twin Capital, Fitzgerald served as an analyst covering special situations with Jefferies’ Dakota Fund, an equity long/short fund focused on the financial services sector. He also served as an analyst at Castle Point Capital Management where he was one of six investment professionals managing a USD400m long/short fund.

Previously, Fitzgerald was an associate at Flexpoint Partners where he focused on the financial services and health care sectors and an analyst at Lazard Frères where he worked on M&A transactions, bankruptcies and out-of-court restructurings.
