Context Alternative Strategies Fund added to three mutual fund platforms

Context Asset Management’s alternative mutual fund, the Context Alternative Strategies Fund, is now available for purchase on three mutual fund platforms – Fidelity Investments, Charles Schwab and Pershing.

"At a time when many retail and institutional investors are seeking access to the strategies of highly knowledgeable hedge-fund managers, we are providing this exposure in a liquid and transparent investment vehicle," says Steve Kneeley, chief executive officer of Context. "We are glad that these three respected mutual fund marketplaces recognise the attributes of our fund, and we look forward to working with them to bring our absolute-return strategy to as many investors as possible."
Context Asset Management was established earlier this year by a team of alternative investment professionals. The team identifies emerging and established managers with exceptional talent and historically successful strategies, and creates single- and multi-manager mutual funds that deliver those strategies to advisors and their clients.
The fund is a multi-manager and multi-strategy product seeking to generate capital appreciation, while emphasising a low correlation to the broader US bond and equity markets. Context selects and supervises multiple sub-advisers using a variety of investment strategies, and determines the percentage of assets allocated to each manager.
"We continue to deliver innovative products that seek to combine the low volatility and low correlation of hedge funds with the liquidity and transparency of mutual funds," says John Culbertson, managing director and chief investment officer of Context. "As demand for alternative mutual funds continues to grow, our fund's inclusion on some of the major mutual fund platforms enables us to help a wide array of investors use this type of product while striving to meet their financial goals."
