Candriam appoints global head of marketing and global head of European client relationships

Candriam Investors Group has appointed Guillaume Abel as Global Head of Marketing and Renato Guerriero as Global Head of European Client Relations.

Abel, who joins from Amundi Group, will begin his role to lead the Marketing department within the pan-European asset manager. He also becomes Member of the Executive Committee.
 
Guerriero has also become a Member of the Executive Committee. 
 
Abel has over 17 years’ experience in the Asset Management industry as a leading brand and marketing strategist, as well as an expert in global business development for both institutional and wholesale sectors. He joins from Amundi where he was employed since 1997, most recently holding the position of Global Head of Marketing and Communication for institutional and third party distribution. Prior to this position, Abel was Managing Director at CAAM Luxembourg.
 
Based in Paris, Abel will be responsible for the strategic implementation of the Marketing department.

Guerriero, who joined Candriam in 2001 as Head of Institutional Sales in Italy is responsible for launching Candriam’s highly successful office in Milan.
 
Renato Guerriero started his career in finance in Brussels in 1999, working for Morgan Guaranty Trust. He then moved to join Artesia Banking Corporation to become an Institutional Banker prior to launching Candriam’s Italian office in 2001. In May of 2011, Renato became Global Head of European Client Relations. This business division covers all Candriam sales offices located in Belgium, France, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Italy, Iberia, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.
 
Guerriero responsibilities will also include all historical distribution partnerships, relations with third-party distributors, as well as international consultants.
 
Renato is currently Vice Chairman of the Association of European Paritarian Institutions of Social Protection (AEIP) based in Brussels.
