BCS Global Markets adds five senior hires to investment banking business

BCS Global Markets, a securities broker on the Moscow Exchange, has made five senior hires in its investment banking services team to drive the expansion of the group.

The five hires are all experienced financial services professionals, who will help to further develop the investment banking division at BCS Global Markets. The team has grown to a total of 13 professionals at all levels.
 
Igor Ushakov, managing director, will run BCS Global Markets’ mining and metallurgical division. He has over 10 years of experience in investment banking. Prior to joining BCS he held a position of director at Sberbank CIB, and before that worked for Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch in London.
 
Azer Mamedov, managing director, will head up consumer, TMT, retail sales and real estate. Mamedov joins BCS with over 10 years of experience in the investment banking business. Before joining BCS he held a position of executive director at UBS, and before that worked for Credit Suisse and Dresdner Kleinwort in Moscow
 
Aleksey Kletenkov, director, will be in charge of operations for equity capital markets. Kletenkov has over nine years of experience in investment banking, working for Sberbank CIB and Deutsche Bank in Moscow and JP Morgan in London prior to joining BCS.
 
Dmitry Kozyrev, director, will head up the oil and gas, petro-chemistry and chemistry division. Kozyrev has nine years of experience in investment banking business. Prior to joining BCS he worked for Sberbank BIC in Moscow and Renaissance Capital in Moscow and Kiev.
 
Oleg Zubarev, director, will be in charge of financial services and joins with seven years of experience in investment banking, having worked for both Morgan Stanley and Nomura.
 
To date the team has been led by Yuri Prilipov, who was formerly in charge of oil and gas, oil services at Sberbank CIB, and worked in the investment banking department at VTB Capital and Credit Suisse in London and in Moscow. Prilipov has been appointed head of investment banking at BCS Global Markets and will be responsible for overseeing growth in the sector. 
 
Oleg Achkasov has taken over the securities trading department in Russia and Aleksey Kupriyanov, head of debt capital, has joined the business line managers’ team.
 
Roman Lokhov (pictured), CEO of BCS Global Markets, says: “The BCS team has extensive experience of M&A, equity capital market (ECM) and debt capital market (DCM) deals in Russia and abroad, knowledge of key industrial sectors and long-standing relations with key industry players. We hire the best specialists in the market in order to further the development of our investment banking offering, as we believe that within 2 years this division will generate significant revenue for BCS Global Markets.”
 
Prilipov adds: “We plan to actively develop the dialog with corporate clients based using the knowledge and experience of the new team, and the unique capabilities of the BCS platform – a leader in Russian ECM. BCS Investment Banking is focused on building long-term relationships with corporate clients and would like to offer clients a wide range of investment banking services, maximally considering their needs. We have a flexible business model, and pride ourselves on a creative approach to development and implementation of solutions for our sophisticated clients. We believe in the Russian market and are interested in working with strong, growing and ambitious companies.”
