Kempen Capital Management (Kempen) has appointed two senior portfolio managers to its business investment teams.

Jags Walia has been appointed as senior portfolio manager for infrastructure, while Ingmar Schaefer has been appointed as senior portfolio manager for European small caps.

Previously, Walia worked as a senior portfolio manager for APG Asset Management, where he focussed predominantly on energy sector shares. Prior to this position, he worked for Delta Lloyd Asset Management and Morgan Stanley. He will bring nearly 25 years of experience in the financial industry to his new post.

Schaefer also worked as a senior portfolio manager for APG Asset Management, where he was responsible for a concentrated portfolio of European shares. In his earlier career, he gained experience as a portfolio manager at Delta Lloyd Asset Management. He has been active in the asset management industry for over 12 years.

Lars Dijkstra, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at Kempen, says: “Jags and Ingmar will be a great asset to Kempen. The expertise they will bring to the teams will contribute to the development of our recently launched infrastructure fund and our European small-cap fund. In addition, their experience in the field of ESG matches well Kempen’s role as an engaged shareholder with a long-term focus.”
