iConnections to host Global Alternatives Conference in January 2021

iConnections, a platform and community that connects investment managers and allocators for long-term investment relationships through a personalised, secure, and information-rich platform, is to host a virtual meeting of managers and allocators from 21-29 January, 2021.

The conference is organised by The iConnections Investment Institute and will feature distinguished speakers from the investment industry, scientific community, leading economists,  technology leaders, and healthcare innovators as well as offer allocator led capital introduction meeting. 

The event will kick off on 21 January, with a fireside chat featuring iConnections CEO, Ron Biscardi, interviewing SkyBridge Capital founder and ex-Director of Communications for the White House Anthony Scaramucci. Additional keynote speakers include Professor of Economics and Public Policy and New York Times best-selling author Stephanie Kelton, who will discuss Modern Monetary Theory and its recent rise to prominence as well as geopolitical strategist and author Peter Zeihan, who will discuss the implications of the U.S. presidential election. Bloomberg News Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait will have a conversation on the future of China with Kishore Mahbubani distinguished fellow from Asia Research Institute (ARI), National University of Singapore (NUS). 

The event also includes sessions highlighting personal wellbeing in the face of the ongoing pandemic. Top medical and pharmaceutical experts will participate in a panel featuring Dr. Gregory Poland, MD, Director of the Vaccine Research Group at the Mayo Clinic and Rich Pelt, Director, Regulatory Affairs Global CMC, Pharma Therapeutics for Vaccines at Pfizer providing an update on Covid-19 vaccine prospects while British scientist and Chief Scientist of Scientific, Professor Stephen Emmott will discuss the future of humanity in conversation with Financial Times Chair of the Editorial Board and US Editor-At-Large, Gillian Tett. 

Ted Seides, founder of Capital Allocators LLC and host of the industry renowned Capital Allocators Podcast will join for a ‘interviewing the interviewer’ session, where he’ll provide his unique insights on his interviews with the leading names in the alternative investment industry and how the podcast launched in 2017 and reached close to five million downloads by November 2020.

The conference will also include sessions on diversity and inclusion, as well as a conversation with Rahul Moodgal, Partner and Head of Investor Relations & Business Development at Parvus Asset Management and a member of the iConnections advisory board, who will interview future women investment leaders from Brandeis University, The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Kamehameha Schools, The Rock Creek Group.

In October, it announced the hiring of senior leadership team members and its partnership with TD Prime Services as well as plans to host an alternative investor conference at Miami Beach’s Fontainebleau Hotel in January 2022.
