Alderwood Capital (Alderwood), a London-based fund manager, has further expanded its team with two senior hires. Rick Potter and Jeremy Bassil will each be joining the rapidly growing firm as Partner, Senior Adviser.

Potter will also be appointed Chair of the Investment Committee. Rick and Jeremy were founding partners of Northill Capital alongside Jon Little, Managing Partner at Alderwood.

With over 30 years’ experience, Potter has a long and successful track record of leading investment teams and implementing projects internationally which include  successful acquisitions, joint ventures, disposals and lift-outs. Prior to joining Alderwood, he was a founding partner of Northill Capital where he led the firm’s investment team. Before that, Potter was at BNY Mellon Asset Management where he was Global Head of Strategy and Development, a Member of the Global Executive Committee and responsible for teams based in the US and UK. Potter’s previous roles include stints at Gartmore and NatWest Investment Management.

Bassil has over 25 years’ experience of advising financial services and asset management firms.  Prior to joining Alderwood, he was one of the founding partners and General Counsel & Chief Administrative Officer at Northill Capital. Before this, Bassil spent 11 years at BNY Mellon, latterly as International General Counsel where he developed and led an experienced international legal team. Bassil will work alongside the firm’s General Counsel Jonathan Crawford focusing exclusively on deal structuring and negotiation.

Founded by Jon Little, the former founder and managing partner of Northill Capital, Alderwood seeks to provide equity capital to specialist boutique active managers through investment in GP (General Partner) stakes.

Jon Little, Managing Partner of Alderwood Capital, says: “Both Rick and Jeremy are highly accomplished industry heavyweights with strong track records in our specialist area of asset management. The three of us have worked together for over two decades at both Northill and BNY Mellon so I am excited about collaborating with them once again as we push forward with our ambitious growth plans for the business.”

The appointments are effective 1 July and both will be based in Alderwood’s London office in Covent Garden.

The news follows the recent appointments of Ryan Sinnott as Partner and member of the Investment Committee, Jonathan Crawford as Partner, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, and Rebecca Noyes as Chief Financial Officer.
