RBC BlueBay adds two to ESG investment team

RBC BlueBay Asset Management has made two appointments in its Environmental, Social and Governance Investment team: Younes Hassar has joined the London office as senior ESG analyst, while Emir Beganovic has joined the Minneapolis office as an ESG Analyst. 

RBC BlueBay Asset Management (RBC BlueBay) has made two appointments in its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Investment team: Younes Hassar has joined the London office as senior ESG analyst, while Emir Beganovic has joined the Minneapolis office as an ESG Analyst. 

Both report into Lucy Byrne, Senior ESG Analyst.

Hassar joined the BlueBay ESG investment team in December 2022, to support the firm’s investment professionals with ESG analysis and stewardship activities. He will support investment teams on ESG sovereign and engagement efforts for the BlueBay fixed income investment platform. With extensive experience in the financial services industry, Hassar has held various in-house and consultancy roles which have ranged from product management to macro analysis, and ESG and sustainability oriented roles at BNP Paribas, HSBC, Aviva Investors, and most recently at Federated Hermes. He has a Masters degree in International Business Management and a BSc in Economics from the SEKMA Business School in France, and is currently enrolled in a post-graduate research programme at EHESS School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences.

Beganovic joined as an ESG Analyst, also in December 2022, to work with fixed income investment professionals based in the US and lead on implementing ESG integration and engagement. With a financial services background, Beganovic was at Thrivent Asset Management for six years where he worked on investment product strategy, development, and marketing and most recently, helped lead the design and implementation of an ESG programme. Prior to this, Beganovic was at RBC Wealth Management, working as a due diligence analyst. He has a Masters of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University, and a BSc of Arts degree in Economics and German Studies from Macalester College. Emir is a CFA charter holder.
