Fasanara Capital has appointed Dr Darran Specter, CFA, as Head of Quant Equity, as the $6bn asset manager continues to expand its quantitative investment platform.
London-based Specter joins from Brevan Howard, where he spent two years as Senior Portfolio Strategist. He previously spent more than 11 years at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, managing multi-billion-dollar allocations to systematic hedge fund strategies.
At Fasanara, Specter will work with Vinicius Karam, Managing Director and Head of Fasanara Quant, on the firm’s Open Quant multi-manager platform, with a focus on sourcing and evaluating emerging quantitative equity managers and portfolio construction.
The appointment follows continued investment by Fasanara in its quantitative research, technology and investment infrastructure.
