The Winton Group, a London-based hedge fund founded by billionaire quant investor David Harding in 2007, is looking to recruit a cryptocurrency expert, perhaps signalling that the company is expanding onto the digital assets space, according to a report by Financial News.
A recruitment advert posted by the firm on LinkedIn says it is looking for an analyst to support the creation of new “crypto systematic trading strategies.”
The new recruit will be tasked with conducting research and analysis of crypto markets and create crypto portfolios for trading, as Winton looks to follow other hedge funds into the digital assets space.
According to a PwC report released in June, more than one-in-three conventional hedge funds is now investing in digital assets, with more than 300 specialised crypto hedge funds already operating globally.
