Millennium, the hedge fund firm founded by billionaire investor Izzy Englander, has appointed Olga Naumovich to the newly-created position of head of technology for Miami as it looks to build out its tech team in Florida, according to a report by Reuters.
The $57 billion multi-strategy hedge fund is currently looking to fill 25 technology roles in Miami, with Naumovich, a 23-year Goldman Sachs veteran who joins the firm from crypto market maker GSR Markets, tasked with leading the recruitment drive. According to Millennium’s website, open positions include front-end and software engineers and senior developers.
Naumovich’s focus will be to build teams of engineers and developers that work closely with the multi-strategy hedge fund’s trading pods.
The war for talent in ‘Wall Street South. looks set to intensify with a number of high-profile hedge funds and financial institutions looking to either establish or expand their operation in Miami. As well as Millennium, Billionaire Ken Griffin said in June the he is moving Citadel’s headquarters to Miami, while Blackstone, the world’s largest private-equity firm, set up a Blackstone Technology & Innovations (BXTI) office in the city last year with plans to create more than 200 tech jobs over the next couple of years.
In addition, Goldman Sachs, Thoma Bravo, and Elliott Management have all built a presence in teh city in recent years.
