Chris Weltzer, Partner and Industrials Portfolio Manager at Balyasny Asset Management, the $25bn Chicago multi-strategy hedge fund founded by Dmitry Balyasny in 2001, has retired from the firm, according to a report by Pensions & Investments Online.
Weltzer, who also led Balyasny’s Chicago office, joined the hedge fund in 2018 and was made partner in 2023.
Before Balyasny, he worked at Anchor Bolt Capital and Robert W Baird & Co.
The firm has yet to announce a successor for the Chicago office leadership.
