The shareholders of three Standard Chartered funds of hedge funds within the Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) platform have been invited to join the umbrella fund LCF Edmond de Rothschild Prifund
The shareholders of three Standard Chartered funds of hedge funds within the Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) platform have been invited to join the umbrella fund LCF Edmond de Rothschild Prifund from 30 September 2008.
From 2000 to now, the AIF funds have been managed at American Express Bank. Standard Chartered, which has an open architecture platform using third-party managers for its alternative investments, acquired American Express Bank in March 2008 and is now aligning these funds with its open architecture strategy.
For Standard Chartered’s clients, the link-up with Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild affords the opportunity to invest with a group boasting 39 years’ experience in alternative investments. The LCF Rothschild Group manages over USD 18 billion of fund assets.
LCF Edmond de Rothschild Prifund is a Luxembourg-based umbrella fund authorised for distribution in Switzerland, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
The Investment Fund Department, headed by Alexandre Col of Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild S.A., manages the alternative subfunds of LCF Edmond de Rothschild Prifund. These six funds of hedge funds cover all the main alternative strategies (long/short, arbitrage, event-driven, trading, multi-strategy) and have assets exceeding USD 5 billion.
The following transfers, effective 30 September 2008, have been proposed to the shareholders of the three Standard Chartered funds:
• Shareholders of American Express Alternative Investment Fund (Lux) Global Market Neutral Moderate Fund of Funds will become shareholders of LCF Edmond de Rothschild Prifund Alpha Uncorrelated
• Shareholders of American Express Alternative Investment Fund (Lux) Dynamic Multi-Strategy Fund of Funds will become shareholders of LCF Edmond de Rothschild Prifund Alpha Diversified
• Shareholders of American Express Alternative Investment Fund (Lux) Global Long-Short Fund of Funds will become shareholders of LCF Edmond de Rothschild Prifund Alpha Volatility.
