BDO, the accountancy and business advisory firm, has promoted Alex Ellerton and Vanessa Bradley to partner in the firm’s financial services team.
Bradley trained with BDO and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2000. She undertook a two year secondment to BDO USA where she specialised in hedge funds and investment management and qualified as a US certified public accountant. Bradley returned to London in 2003 and was promoted to director in 2012. She has broad audit and advisory experience in private equity, funds, investment management and broker dealers.
Ellerton trained with Deloitte and has spent 14 years providing risk and regulatory advisory services to retail financial services firms. In addition to helping firms meet current and developing regulatory requirements, he also regularly undertakes 'skilled person' work at the request of the regulator.
Ellerton and Bradley are two of 14 new partners across the firm. The 14 promotions follow last year’s merger with PKF (UK), creating a business with revenues approaching GBP400m.
The promotions will further boost BDO’s core offering of tax, audit and advisory services.
Mark Hunt, head of financial services at BDO, says: “In the last 12 months our financial services practice has hired five new partners, further strengthening our sector expertise. This momentum within the firm, coupled with the ever-changing landscape in the financial service sector, offers a wealth of opportunities for growth. Alex and Vanessa, as two of the 14 new partner appointments, will ensure we are well placed to meet our ambitions for growth and to continue delivering excellent service to our clients operating in the financial services sector. They will also demonstrate our commitment to developing the next generation of leaders across the firm.”
