Bearish hedge fund positions on US two-year and 10-year Treasury note futures have surged to record levels, according to a report by Reuters, citing data released by the Commodity Futures Treading Commission (CFTC).
The latest CFTC report reveals that leveraged funds’ net short positions on US two-year note futures soared to an all-time high of 2,342,703 contracts as of the week ending 20 August.
Similarly, net short positions on the benchmark 10-year note futures also reached a record, climbing to 2,184,910 contracts. These figures indicate a significant increase in bearish sentiment among hedge funds in the US.s Treasury market.
