Hedge fund Brevan Howard plans to hire up to 15 Abu Dhabi-based Interns who are interested in careers as Traders, Quants and Analysts, partnering with New York University Abu Dhabi, Khalifa University of Science and Technology and Zayed University, according to a report by Financial News.
The report cites people familiar with the mater as confirming that the firm’s internship programme will run for four weeks from 15 July to 9 August.
Brevan Howard opened its Abu Dhabi office in February 2023, which currently has a headcount of around 70 staff. Ryan Taylor, Head of Compliance at Brevan Howard, relocated from the firm’s London office last year.
Last month, Connecticut-based hedge fund Bridgewater Associates offered its summer 2024 cohort of investment engineering interns a package of $41,000 for eight weeks.
Other hedge funds have opened Abu Dhabi in recent years, including UK-based Florin Court Capital in 2021 and Christopher Hohn’s The Children’s Investment Fund Management (TCI) in November 2023.
