CAMRADATA, a provider of data and analysis for institutional investors, has appointed financial journalist and editor Bob Currie as Research Editor for CAMRADATA and Funds Europe, the business strategy magazine for Europe’s asset management professionals acquired by CAMRADATA in 2017.

Currie will be responsible for writing research reports for both Funds Europe and CAMRADATA, as well as contributing to CAMRADATA’s quarterly financial reports and other publications, providing economic overview and analysis of investment data. He will contribute to news features online for Funds Europe too.
Currie also has a client-facing role, promoting CAMRADATA and Funds Europe research to senior industry participants through presentations, conference panels and client workshops and ensuring that this research remains fully engaged with the latest developments in asset servicing and financial technology.
Currie has over 20 years’ journalistic experience with a multi-disciplinary background spanning global political economy, IT, financial regulation and business communications. He is also a leading financial services industry commentator, and regularly invited to participate in conference panels, roundtables and client workshops.
Prior to joining CAMRADATA, Currie was editorial director and co-founder of Financial Services Research, a company offering analysis of regulatory change and infrastructure development in the financial services industry, focusing on securities, derivatives, collective investments and alternatives.
He was also editor for GSCS Benchmarks, Metal Bulletin plc and a lecturer in International Political Economy at both Huddersfield University and Leeds University.
Currie will report to Sean Thompson (pictured), managing director at CAMRADATA and Alan Chalmers, co-founder and publisher of Funds Europe Limited. He is based at CAMRADATA’s Leadenhall Street offices in the City of London.

Currie says: “I am delighted to join CAMRADATA and Funds Europe. I’ve long respected the magazine and was attracted to the role because of my background in global political economy, IT and finance. My skills, experience and personality fit really well with both brands.”
Thompson says: “Bob is a real asset to CAMRADATA and Funds Europe, bringing a great deal of knowledge and experience to the team. Our acquisition of Funds Europe Limited is enabling us to reach investors in other European markets and we look forward to Bob’s contribution in our future growth.”
Currie has a PhD in International Political Economy from the University of Hull and is currently studying for an MSc in Computer Science at the University of Bath.
