Cardano has appointed Fredric Hevras and Michelle Bellwood to its London-based investment management team.
They will focus on researching and selecting credit investments for Cardano’s clients. Both join from funds of hedge funds.
Keith Guthrie, head of investment management at Cardano UK, says: ‘As part of our solvency management service we have a dynamic approach to choosing investments. There are some fantastic credit opportunities right now, and we believe there will continue to be good opportunities as we move through the credit cycle. That said, there are definite risks that need to be appreciated and factored into the decision-making process. We therefore need people who understand the full range of credit investments in depth and people who think like investors rather than advisers. Fredric and Michelle have both the experience and breadth of knowledge needed to cover this complex space and most importantly an investor mindset.’
Prior to joining Cardano Hevras was a senior analyst at Atlas Capital for seven years. He worked on the full range of credit investments and monitored an extensive group of credit, relative value and volatility hedge funds. He was involved in the management of four funds of hedge funds and was a member of the risk group, responsible for portfolio construction and quantitative analysis.
Bellwood joins from GAM where she was an analyst monitoring a wide range of credit, fixed income and relative value managers. Before joining GAM in 2005 Bellwood worked for Aon as an investment consultant and a pensions consultant. She is also a qualified actuary.
