Charles River Development and Axioma have formed a strategic partnership which will see Axioma’s risk and portfolio analytics integrated into the Charles River Investment Management Solution (Charles River IMS), a front and middle office platform used by more than 300 investment managers, asset owners and hedge funds globally.
As a result, Charles River clients will benefit from access to Axioma’s full suite of factor models and portfolio optimisation capabilities directly within the Charles River IMS.
In combination with Charles River’s portfolio management, risk and attribution capabilities, Axioma’s factor models for equity, multi-asset and fixed income portfolios will enable firms to identify, measure and reduce risk in a single solution, with compliance rules and optimization tightly coupled. This interoperable benefit is a foundation of Charles River IMS, allowing investment managers to incorporate internal IP and externally sourced models, data and analytics to support the unique demands of their investment processes and asset mix.
“When State Street acquired Charles River in October 2018, the intent was to develop the industry’s first ever front-to-back investment management and servicing platform that could support the deep enterprise data aggregation and management, analytics and compliance needs of our clients,” says John Plansky, CEO, Charles River Development. “Today, our partnership with Axioma serves as a testament to the depth and scalability of State Street’s front-to-back platform offering. Our global clients will be able to seamlessly integrate and leverage their portfolio management and risk analytics needs all from a single, interoperable solution.”
“We are delighted to be partnering with Charles River,” says Sebastian Ceria (pictured), CEO of Axioma. “With margins shrinking and competition increasing for investment managers, the quest for competitive advantage has never been more acute. Axioma’s best-of-breed solutions and tools for risk management, portfolio construction and optimization, combined with the capabilities of Charles River IMS, provide the front and middle offices with a powerful and unified solution that enhances their pursuit of alpha.”
