In an unusual career pivot, Eike Schick, a 37-year-old partner at Citadel in London, has stepped away from the high-stakes world of hedge fund trading to enrol as a student at King’s College London, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.
Schick, who joined Citadel’s commodities team in 2021, had previously led the European natural gas desk at Freepoint Commodities. During his time at Citadel, Schick held partner status at Citadel HF Management Europe, the firm’s highly profitable London subsidiary.
Though the subject of his studies at King’s remains undisclosed, Schick previously earned a first-class degree in economics from University College London nearly two decades ago.
