White Elk Partners, the hedge fund founded by former BlueCrest and Brevan Howard portfolio manager Carl Radford, has bolstered its senior leadership with the appointment of Nicholas Alexander as COO and Head of Risk Management and Compliance, according to a report by Financial News.
Alexander, who joins from ANZ where he was a senior rates trader, will be based in White Elk’s newly-opened Sydney office and is expected to start in late September. He previously spent nearly a decade at Commonwealth Bank, including a role as general manager overseeing cross-currency and structural FX risks.
White Elk launched its Sydney office in August and aims to expand the team to six employees by year-end. The fund, founded in 2023, manages close to $400m and posted a 5.7% gain in August, bringing year-to-date returns to over 11%, according to sources familiar with the firm.
