Interactive Brokers’ hedge fund clients delivered an average return of 28.9% in 2025, comfortably outperforming the S&P 500’s 17.9% gain, with the broker saying the figures highlight how lower costs, global market access, and efficient execution can enhance returns for professional investors.
Interactive Brokers’ platform enables hedge funds to trade across more than 160 markets and multiple asset classes, including equities, derivatives, fixed income, and currencies, while benefiting from low margin rates and institutional-grade trading tools.
Founder and Chairman Thomas Peterffy noted that efficient execution and reduced fees compound over time, giving sophisticated investors a structural advantage. Hedge fund clients outpaced individual clients, who achieved an average 19.2% return for the year.
