Multi-strategy hedge fund majors, Millennium Management and Balyasny Asset Management, have both recently made cuts to their portfolio management teams in Asia, with Senior Portfolio Managers among the departing staff, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.
Millennium has reportedly parted company with Zachary Corones, a Hong Kong-based former managing director and head of central risk and alpha strategies at Citi, who joined the firm in January 2021, along with three members of his team.
Balyasny Asset Management, meanwhile, has also made changes, cutting Mark Cox, a portfolio manager who had been with the firm for a decade and was running a relative value strategy.
Both firms declined to comment on the departures.
