Millennium Management has strengthened its Dubai presence by hiring Edward Pisano, formerly a senior Commodities Portfolio Manager at BlueCrest Capital Management, as part of a broader push into commodity trading in the region, according to a report by Financial News London.
Pisano, who will start in January, will lead a new commodities pod spanning Millennium’s Dubai, London, and Singapore offices. He is expected to recruit top analysts in Dubai to support the multi-strategy hedge fund’s trading operations.
The hire follows Pisano’s relocation from London to Dubai in 2021 when he co-founded BlueCrest’s local office. His prior experience includes senior portfolio and trading roles at Engelhart, Mercuria, and Goldman Sachs.
Millennium has been steadily expanding in the emirate since gaining Dubai Financial Services Authority registration in 2020, now employing over 100 staff locally. The fund has recently added other senior hires, including Alex Blanchard from Point72 and Adam Power from BlueCrest, and continues to seek talent, advertising over 200 open roles across its global offices.
