Ankur Saboo has become the latest London-based bank managing director to jump ship to a hedge fund firm, with the 14-year-veteran oil, power, and gas options trader quitting Morgan Stanley to join Verition’s new Dubai operation, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.

Saboo, who is making the move despite only being promoted to MD in January, will focus on the same investment markets he covers at Morgan Stanley in his new role as a Portfolio Manager at Veriton.

Verition announced last week that it was opening an office in Dubai, joining the likes of Millennium and ExodusPointh in the UAE’s financial hub. The firm’s new operation is being headed up by another Morgan Stanley alumnus, Saad Mahmood, who spent 12 years in the bank’s institutional equities team.
