Marc Helfman, who has served as Head of Cybersecurity at hedge fund Schonfeld for the past eight years, has left the firm, according to a report by eFinancial Careers. Helfman is believed to have resigned although Schonfeld has declined to comment on his departure.
Helfman, based in Miami, joined the hedge fund in 2016, where he oversaw the management of over 20 cybersecurity platforms and initiated a cybersecurity intern programme.
Despite recent challenges, including the collapse of a proposed partnership with multi-stratgey hedge fund major Millennium, Schonfeld has emerged as one of the top performers in 2024, posting a 10.3% return in the first half of the year.
According to business insiders, the firm is actively exploring innovative uses of AI, including encouraging employees to engage with AI systems to deepen their understanding of their roles.
