100 Women in Hedge Funds (100WHF), a non-profit organisation for professionals in the alternative investment industry, has selected Solidarité Femmes as the beneficiary of all 2016 fundraising activities in Switzerland.

Funds raised by 100 Women in Hedge Funds will be used to support Solidarité Femmes’ activities dedicated to supporting children exposed to domestic violence. 100WHF is pleased to again support Solidarité Femmes following its 2010 funding efforts.

100WHF's philanthropic mission is to leverage its collective abilities and expertise in order to give back to the global community. Each year, 100WHF's Board of Directors selects charitable organisations in the US, Europe and Asia within rotating themes of women’s and family health, education and mentoring. The philanthropic theme for 2016 is mentoring. As of 1 January, 2016, 100WHF had raised USD38 million (gross) globally for philanthropic causes.

In 2014, 100WHF raised CHF270’000 for The Swiss Cancer League to help children with cancer or whose parents have cancer. Since 2009, 100WHF has collected CHF344’000 for a:primo and the Roger Federer Foundation, CHF300’000 for All Special Kids, CHF380’000 for Coeurs pour Tous, CHF200’000 for Solidarité Femmes Genève and CHF135’000 for the Association Païdos.

Beatrice Cortellini, the director of Solidarité Femmes Geneva, says: “We truly appreciate being the beneficiary of this year’s 100 Women in Hedge Funds’ Geneva Gala. Growing up in situations of domestic violence has a serious impact on children. The intensity and ubiquity of the violence mothers are exposed to prevents them from realizing how difficult their children’s situation is. Thanks to the funds that will be collected through the gala, 600 children who currently experience domestic violence will be supported in a sensitive and sustainable way to break the cycle of violence in their families. Thank you for helping these children become well balanced and responsible adults.”

Anna Chevallier (pictured), member of the London Board of 100WHF, says: "We are delighted to once again support such a worthy cause. The selection committee hopes that the money raised during the year by 100 Women in Hedge Funds will help a significant number of children break the cycle of violence."

100WHF is planning a number of events in Switzerland during 2016, culminating with the 100 Women in Hedge Funds Geneva Gala to be held on Thursday, 10 November, 2016. All net proceeds from Swiss fundraising efforts will benefit Solidarité Femmes.
