Sunrise Capital Partners has opened to outside investors the Sunrise Aggressive Diversified Strategy, the latest global macro offering from one of the world’s premier systematic trading firms.
The launch culminates 15 years of research and proprietary trading on the strategy, which blends a levered version of Sunrise’s flagship Expanded Diversified Strategy with advanced techniques to trade longer time frames and implement different approaches to capturing the power of market momentum. Since its 1995 inception, the Aggressive Diversified Strategy has delivered nearly 30% compounded net annual returns, assuming a 2% management fee and 20% performance fee. Over the same time period, the Aggressive Diversified Strategy has delivered low correlation (approximately -.13) to more traditional investment benchmarks such as the S&P 500 Total Return Index.

Among other things, Sunrise’s Aggressive Diversified strategy integrates a more patient, longer-term approach to trading that doubles the average holding period of profitable trades versus Sunrise’s Flagship Expanded Diversified Strategy. Additionally, the Aggressive Diversified Strategy blends in an alternative momentum model that looks beyond breakout prices for evidence of market trends.
In light of the longer-term perspective of the Aggressive Diversified strategy and investor demand for more flexible fee and liquidity options, Sunrise will offer qualified investors a range of structures to meet their varying investment goals and liquidity needs. The Aggressive Diversified strategy has been seeded with over USD75 million in proprietary capital and Sunrise is already in discussions with several institutional investors with potential interest in the strategy.
