Hedge fund Walleye Capital has dismissed five portfolio managers, including Global Macro Head Anuraj Dua, as part of a new wave of job cuts, according to a report by Bloomberg citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.
Alongside Dua, volatility traders Robert Toffel, Julien Prado, and Eric Couffignals, as well as macro trader Jessica Vanquin, are also departing, the sources said. The reductions represent less than 1% of the firm’s total risk exposure.
With approximately $7.1bn in assets under management, Walleye has delivered over 13% gains so far this year, according to one of Bloomberg’s sources.
In August, Walleye trimmed its workforce by around a dozen positions, including the Head of Equity Capital Markets role previously held by Michael Martin.
Dua, who joined Walleye in January 2021, previously held roles at GTS Asset Management and Barclays. Toffel, Prado, Couffignals, and Vanquin all joined Walleye earlier this year.
